What are the different yoga styles? Well, actually, Yoga is just yoga. And all yoga styles are yoga. Sure, there are differences in style and approach, but in essence it comes down to the same ‘thing’: unity.
Unity of breath.
Unity of movement synchronised with the breath.
And unifying body, mind and soul to be and feel as healthy as we can be and to be present in the current moment.
Each class is a fine blend of yoga styles.
Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic, flowing style of practicing yoga. We move synchronised with our breath, meaning every movement follows an inhalation or exhalation. The breath is guiding and warming, and a good buddy that helps us explore, deepen, challenge and grow in our practice. Vinyasa can be a gentle or more dynamic flow – we stay in the poses for a shorter time.
Vinyasa Yoga is a freestyle form of yoga – the yoga class is different and surprising every time. The breath is our guide and we work our muscles, circulation, flexibility, stamina, posture and strength. We always begin and end with relaxation and just sitting. Vinyasa Yoga is a great way to get moving!
Yin Yoga is slower, more quiet way to practice. We find new ways to stretch body and mind. The focus is myofascial, meaning we work both muscles and fascia (connective/releasing tissue). As it takes longer to reach and relax fascia, we usually stay in the poses longer. You can use any support you like, for example cushions, blankets, blocks, bolsters, or any other tools.
It’s a lot of fun too to create your own personal set-up. Aim is to always practice in a functional way, while we can be as comfortable as possible and simply breathe, relax and find space in the body. Yin Yoga is a very nice way to relax and release.
Bhakti Yoga is quite simple, it’s about being kind. To yourself and others. You can also call it yoga with intention. You can dedicate your practice to a purpose outside of yourself, for example by using a personal wish or intention. This is something you can do mentally and you may find your yoga practice gets an extra special dimension.
When we practice beyond just our physical aims, yet from the heart, you may feel more energy, inspiration and motivation as well to grow in your practice. Not just for yourself, but also for your surroundings. This is a beautiful exploration that we do with the support of meditation, pranayama (breathing excercises), music and mantras.
“Bhakti Yoga is my all-time favourite yoga. I love it!”

Functional Yoga is the same as any yoga, with a focus to practice in a way that you get the most optimal benefits from a pose by following your own body. Rather than general guidelines, I encourage you to find your best stretch or feeling in the aimed target areas. Everybody, and every body is different, that’s why personal alignment is really your own unique experience to get ‘your yoga on’.
“It’s about you, not about the beautiful picture on the cover of a yoga magazine or social post. Just be happy in your yoga.”
– Valentina
